LIGHT OF THE HEART

The three paintings that make up the “Light of the Heart” series interpret the heart as a symbol of life, change, and hope for new horizons, representing not only strength but also the fragility inherent in illness.

In the first work, a healthy heart is depicted—red and luminous, a heart capable of radiating light, a symbol of life and of creating movement. One seems to hear the regular rhythm, thump-ta, thump-ta…, accompanied by flashes of vital light.

In the second painting, illness is represented: a heart that is “coming to the end of its life,” from which light is fading away. Without light, it is almost motionless; the colors grow darker, and one seems to hear a dull, slow heartbeat, increasingly distant.

But thanks to technological innovation, light can return. Thus, in the third work, the hope of a new life offered by the artificial heart is portrayed. The heart, however, is still a “sketch,” an idea; within it coexist light and metal, physiology and research, which together can open new paths.
